Dublin dentist honoured by the ISDC

Award

The winner of the annual O’Mullane Award was announced at the Irish Society of Dentistry for Children’s (ISDC) Annual Scientific Meeting held at the end of May.

Dr Liam McElvanna from Dublin Dental University Hospital picked up a silver medal and a cash prize for his presentation. The prize is open to any person associated with the provision or organisation of dental care for children in Ireland. The O’Mullane Award, named after the society’s first chairman Professor Dennis O’Mullane, is given to the best individual judged to have presented on any topic related to the provision of dental care to children, including technique description, audit, case report, literature review, research or service organisation.

Also at the meeting, Dr Anne O’Connell handed over the presidency of the ISDC to Dr David Finucane.
